Andrew has 27 years of accounting / financial / business experience. The majority of his working career has been in small to medium sized family businesses. 

He knows what it is like to own and manage your own business as he has been part of the decision making and running of these family owned business as if it were his own.

He has always had been given full authority and accountability in the Financial/Admin and HR side of business and assisted in the sales and marketing side.

He started off his career as an articled auditing clerk in 1989 with the prestige auditing firm BDO, whilst completing his B.Compt degree (Bachelor of Accounting Science) part time with UNISA.

 

He has 7 years’ experience in the auditing field having served his 5 year article internship (BDO) and 2 years as an internal auditor for the Anglovaal Ltd (JSE Listed) mining company.

After completing his service at Anglovaal, Andrew decided to move away from the auditing field and into the accounting and financial management side of business.

 

He gained valuable accounting/managerial and HR experience in his position, firstly as the accountant and then as Financial Director, at a successful direct sales, manufacturing educational toy company, Smile Education (Pty) Ltd.

He left the toy company after 5 and a half years for the progressive cellular industry and spent 2 years as the Financial Manager for the accessories and repair Company for Motorola phones. 

 

He is currently the Financial and Human Resources Manager for a medical device company that supplies the big 3 private hospital groups/Government and smaller independent hospital groups.

He has been with Perryhill International Trading (Pty) Ltd for 11 years and decided to branch out after hours in his passion and expertise of helping individuals and small companies with their bookkeeping/accounting/tax and HR related matters.

 

Andrew is currently a member of the South African Institute of Tax Professionals and is a registered Tax Practitioner with SARS (PR 0018708). He is also a member of SAICA in his capacity as an Associate General Accountant (SA) {30687325}.

Further to his B.Compt degree, Andrew has kept abreast of current management/business/accounting/HR and tax principles by way of:

• Advanced Business Diploma in Business Management with Damelin

• Bridging CTA with the University of Johnannesburg

• 1st year of MBA – Milpark (terminated due to work pressure)

• EVA by Joel Stern

• IIR High impact course on leadership

• Currently enrolled for a certificate in Taxation, Individuals and Companies (UNISA)

• Reading weekly financial magazine (Financial Mail, FM Weekly)

• Reading Business Day and other newspapers (still like the feel of books and paper)

• Reading Tax Talk generated by SAIT

• Course in Taxation (Business and Individual) UNISA 2016 (Passed with distinction)

 

Andrew has many years’ experience of dealing with individuals and companies taxes, dealing with SARS, solving problems and issues with business/accounting/bookkeeping.
